FLEET MANAGER

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee our fleet operations and ensure optimal performance and efficiency. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing the company’s fleet of heavy equipment and light trucks, ensuring they are maintained, utilized efficiently, and compliant with all regulations.  

This role requires strong organizational and leadership skills, as well as a thorough understanding of heavy equipment and fleet management best practices.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily fleet operations, ensuring all equipment and vehicles are in optimal condition and ready for use.
  • Develop, implement and maintain effective fleet management policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze fleet performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
  • Coordinate and schedule regular maintenance and repairs to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Manage relationships with vendors, service providers, and suppliers to ensure quality service and competitive pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, maintenance schedules and repairs.
  • Develop and manage the fleet budget, tracking expenses and optimizing cost efficiency.
  • Supervise mechanics and fleet personnel, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Ability to complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification.
  • Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean Drivers Abstract.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in fleet management or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance and fleet management systems/software.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

What we offer:

  • $45 - $50 per hour depending on experience
  • Standard benefits package

 

Location: This position is based out of Kamloops, BC.  Frequent travel to sites is required
