WATER TRUCK OPERATOR - Temporary
We are seeking experienced Water Truck Operators to join our team in the Thompson Okanagan region of British Columbia. The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating water trucks in a variety of ground conditions and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. This position is temporary, expected to last approximately 2 months.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operate safely in a mining or civil construction environment following company policies and procedures
- Perform daily 360° inspection for operational and safety checks
- Assist with running, maintaining, servicing, and cleaning equipment as required
- Accurately complete all work reports and maintenance logs as required
- Support operations through manual labour, including shoveling, operating powered equipment, loading and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, light maintenance, and other duties as needed
Requirements:
- Ability to complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification
- Class 3 or Class 5 Driver’s Licence with air brakes and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract
- Operates safely with care and attention to the equipment, the jobsite and the crew
- 1-3 years’ experience operating a water truck
- Perform labour tasks when not operating equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to interact positively with co-workers and supervisors
- Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training
- Strict attention and compliance with equipment cleanliness, maintenance and completing logs
- Good communication skills
- Reliable transportation
What we offer:
- $32 - $35 per hour
- Regular shift work
Location: This position is based out of the Highland Valley Copper Mine near Logan Lake, British Columbia
