RED SEAL HEAVY DUTY MECHANIC
We are currently recruiting experienced Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanics to join our growing team. Candidates should demonstrate a history of skilled experience repairing Heavy-duty equipment including but not limited to servicing, troubleshooting, adjusting, overhauling and maintaining mobile heavy-duty construction equipment. Experience required in hydraulics, attachments, drive trains, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering.

General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work safely in a mining or civil construction environment following company procedures and policies.
- Diagnose equipment issues, trouble shoot problems and make necessary repairs.
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance to ensure work meets manufacturers’ specifications.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other daily and scheduled routine maintenance work on equipment.
- Follow equipment maintenance schedule and ongoing preventative maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history and repairs.
- Communicate maintenance status and issues to management team.
- Daily inspection of heavy-duty equipment for defect faults, malfunctions, and proper performance.
- Ensure equipment complies with safety and environmental regulations.
- Clean tools and check for defects, maintain/repair as required.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure good mechanical practices.
- Perform other related tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Class 5 Driver’s Licence and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract with reliable transportation.
- Experience working on mine site an asset
- Basic welding skills strongly recommended
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving and trouble shooting skills
- Good communication skills
- Must be able to work 12-hour shifts on a 7x7 rotation.
Location: This position is based out of the Elk Gold Project located approximately 57 km from Merritt, BC.
This is not a camp position; employees provide their own transportation to/from the job site.
