MINE TECHNICIAN SURVEYOR
We are currently recruiting a Mine Technician Surveyor to join our team.

General Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate as-built models of construction activities
- Read and interpret drawings, plans and diagrams to perform required work
- Assist construction crew with staking and layout
- Double check grades and help Shifter and Operators make sure quality is met
- Follow equipment, tool maintenance schedule, and advise if repair is required
- Actively participate in Tailgates, Safety meetings, and project related meetings
- Document results, perform daily field reports summarizing observation and calculations
- Assist with month end survey reconciliation work and maintain accurate month end records
- Provide Mine Operations with accurate field control surveys, save data and upload on a daily basis
- Proactive daily communication with Project Manager, Mine Superintendent, Shifter, and Operators
- Monitor construction activities to ensure work performed fully adheres to specified and established grades
- Adhere to Health and Safety Procedures and Processes while performing inspection of tools and equipment
- Operate various Survey equipment and software including but not limited to Aerial Drones, Total Station, Laser, Transit, Tripod, Grade Rods, Hand Levels, Stakes, Paint, and Tape to establish and mark property boundaries, elevations, and grades
Requirements:
- EIT, Mine Tech, or Degree in relevant fields
- Experience in open pit/underground mining
- Exceptional knowledge of GPS, GIS, AutoCAD, Survey (Topcon, Trimble) and MS Office
- Proficient reading drawings, plans and blueprints
- Solid organizational and time management skills
- Ability to communicate and report effectively
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor
Location: This position will be based out of the Highland Valley Copper Mine near Logan Lake, but travel will be required as needed to other sites in the Merritt and Kamloops area.
