FLEET MANAGER

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee our fleet operations and ensure optimal performance and efficiency. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for managing the company’s fleet of heavy equipment and light trucks, ensuring they are maintained, utilized efficiently, and compliant with all regulations.  This role requires strong organizational skills, leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of heavy equipment and fleet management.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the fleet, ensuring all equipment are in optimal condition and ready for use.
  • Develop and implement effective fleet management policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and analyze fleet performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost savings.
  • Coordinate regular maintenance and repairs, ensuring minimal downtime for equipment.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure quality service and competitive pricing.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and maintenance schedules.
  • Develop and manage the fleet budget, tracking expenses and optimizing cost efficiency.
  • Supervise mechanics and fleet personnel, promoting a culture of safety and excellence.

Requirements:

  • Ability to complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification.
  • Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean Drivers Abstract.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in fleet management or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment maintenance and fleet management software.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills.

What we offer:

  • $40 - $45 per hour depending on experience
  • Standard benefits package

 

Location: This position is based out of Kamloops, BC.  Frequent travel to sites is part of this position.
