SITE SUPERINTENDENT

We are currently recruiting experienced Site Supervisors to join our growing team. This position is based out of the Fraser Canyon area.

General Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities, plans and schedule
  • Supervise all workers, subcontractors and the use of all equipment
  • Proactively plan, coordinate and communicate construction processes
  • Lead, support and implement safety, environmental and quality guidelines
  • Supervise, manage, monitor, train, coach and mentor workers performance
  • Ensure the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
  • Check all worker competencies and train as required
  • Analyze, manage, resolve and mitigate risks, on-site issues and emergencies
  • Assist in the preparation of reports pertaining to project status and progress
  • Lead and participate in Tailgates, ToolBox Talks, and project related meetings
  • Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Collaborate with managers, engineers, subcontractors, etc. to determine project needs
  • Establish and communicate worker and subcontractor tasks, performance goals and deadlines
  • Meet all contractual conditions of performance
  • Ensure all workers are in compliance with specifications, safety and environmental regulations
  • Timely identification and capture of scope changes via written change orders and schedule impact
  • Prepare and submit daily activity and other reports as required
  • Daily in-depth look ahead of project deliverables to mitigate problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on schedule development and planning to ensure milestones, targets and goals are achieved for: Production, Manpower, Equipment, Materials, Tools and Supplies, Subcontractors, Quality Control, Survey and other key elements as required

Requirements:

  • Ability to complete mandatory internet-based Orientation and Indoctrination training and certification
  • Class 5 Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and ability to provide a clean Drivers Abstract
  • Demonstrated 5+ years civil or mine site management experience and comprehensive understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Knowledge of materials, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Advanced working and operating knowledge of heavy-duty civil construction equipment
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management, means, methods and procedures
  • Excellent leadership, human resource management, organizational and planning skills
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Preference to a Degree in construction management, engineering or project management related field
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, good physical condition, stamina, and handling up to 50lbs
  • Strict attention and compliance with equipment cleanliness, maintenance and completing logs

 

Location: This position is based out of the Fraser Canyon area of British Columbia.
